His career began at 16 as a young fisherman. Ever since, Bernhardur Gudmundsson (37) has had to watch the Atlantic Ocean get warmer — and avalanches hitting his fishing village. He rescued a villager – and swore off the fishing boat.
To this day, a shipwreck destroyed by masses of snow serves as a reminder of the avalanche two years ago.
