Water in the desert

Spain

Spain is dying of thirst. Enrique (82) and Juan Veiga (42) are joining forces to fight the drought in the south of the country. Their solution: a machine that cools hot air, condenses water. “There’s more liquid in the air than in all rivers and lakes combined”, they say.

More hot spells

Due to global warming we will need to prepare for more periods of dry and hot weather, according to Professor Maarten van Aalst of the University of Twente.
